Your day: Shabby Chic card

This card is for World-Wide Stamping Week 2012 Shabby Chic and Material Whirl challenges. I thought the two worked real well together. Here's a link to the Master thread with all the WSW12 challenges. The Shabby Chic challenge is to do a shabby chic style card and to use flower embellishments, ribbon or lace, at least one button, 2-3 patterned papers and a vintage stamped image. The material challenge is to stamp on fabric.

The background was made by smearing gesso through a dot stencil. When dry, I added several layers of Picket Fence Distress Stain, to tone down the brown text. The image was stamped with Archival Ink Coffee on a piece of thick calico type fabric, which I had in my stash for a long time (it was hard to find). I also use three pieces of patterned papers, three buttons, three flowers and two pieces of lace ribbon. Everything was stitched in place.

The flowers were die-cut from canvas and coloured with Distress Stains (Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose). I also inked the edges of two of the papers with Tattered Rose and added some Spun Sugar to one of the pieces of lace.

Thank you for stopping by!
